Advanced Sending Options for Campaigns

Advanced Sending Options for Campaigns

When you reach the final step of creating a campaign in Delivra, you’ll decide when to send your email. Beyond the standard options like Send Now or Schedule for a Future Date, Delivra also offers advanced sending options designed to maximize engagement. This article covers the advanced options: Time Zone Sending and Send Time Optimization.

Note: Your license package determines if advanced sending options are available. If you have questions about your license, please email our Client Success team at success@delivra.com.

Time Zone Sending

Time Zone Sending ensures your email reaches recipients at the specified time in their own local time zone. For example, if you schedule an email to send at 9:00 AM, a recipient in Indianapolis will receive it at 9:00 AM Indianapolis time, and a recipient in San Francisco will receive it at 9:00 AM San Francisco time.

Notes about Time Zone Sending

  • If Delivra cannot detect a recipient’s location, the email will be sent according to your account's designated time zone.

  • When using this feature, your campaign will start sending 24 hours before the scheduled time in your time zone. This ensures delivery across all global time zones at the correct local hour.

Send Time Optimization (STO)

Send Time Optimization (STO) identifies the most likely time a recipient will open your email based on their historical engagement, and schedules delivery accordingly. This removes the guesswork from choosing an ideal send time.

How STO Works

STO evaluates the following data points in order:

  1. Most recurring click time
The hour when the recipient most often clicks on links.

  2. Most recurring open time
The hour when the recipient most often opens emails.

  3. Most recurring click time for the account
The hour when recipients across your account most often click.

  4. Specified date and send time
The default date and time set during campaign creation.

The optimization process begins at the bottom half of each hour. For instance, if a recipient typically clicks links between 1:30 PM and 2:29 PM, their email will be sent around 2:00 PM.

Notes about Send Time Optimization

  • If a recipient has no prior engagement history, their send time defaults to your account’s most common click time.

  • For new clients, 10-20 mailings may be needed before STO becomes fully effective, as the system requires historical data to optimize send times accurately.
