Delivra fully supports sending emails in foreign languages, including character-based languages like Mandarin. Whether you're using the drag-and-drop email designer, building Campaigns, or saving reusable Templates, all major features support the use of foreign characters.
You can confidently use foreign languages in the following areas:
Email Designer: All content blocks, including text, buttons, and dynamic content, support foreign characters.
Campaigns & Templates: Content created in any language, including special characters, can be saved and reused.
Contact Data Fields: Certain contact fields allow for storage of foreign characters—this is especially useful when using personalization (merge tags).
If you plan to personalize your emails using merge tags, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
Unicode Fields Required: For character-based languages (like Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, etc.), make sure to use Unicode Text fields in your contact data.
General Text Fields May Not Work: Standard text fields may not render special characters correctly in all cases.
To verify whether a contact field supports Unicode:
Navigate to Settings > Data Setup > Contact Fields in your Delivra account.
In the Field Types column, check whether a field is labeled as Unicode Text or Text.
If you need to store foreign characters, confirm that the field is set to Unicode Text before using it in personalization.
Test Emails Before Sending: Always preview emails in the target language to verify that characters render properly.
Use Unicode Fields Proactively: If you plan multilingual campaigns, create custom fields as Unicode by default to avoid issues later.
Font Support: Choose web-safe fonts that support your target language to ensure legibility across devices.
