Delivra makes it easy to manage and personalize your SMS communications by supporting a range of custom fields on SMS contact records. These fields can store key information—like text, dates, and numbers—to help you create targeted, relevant campaigns for your SMS audience.
To view and configure SMS fields:
Navigate to the Contacts dashboard.
Select Configuration from the left-hand menu.
Toggle the Email/SMS switch to SMS to reveal SMS-specific settings.
Click the Configure Fields tile to view all available SMS contact fields.
From here, you can manage the fields used to store data for your SMS subscribers.
Hover over any field in the Configure Fields page and click Edit.
You can rename the field for easier identification, define the expected data format (such as dates), and even set a default value.
Default values are useful when using merge tags in SMS campaigns, ensuring your messages are always complete—even when some data is missing.
All SMS contact fields are available in the segment builder, allowing you to create audience segments based on:
Contact data (e.g., location, preferences, or custom fields)
SMS behavior, such as message clicks or responses
This flexibility helps tailor your messaging and improve engagement with your SMS campaigns.
If an email contact record is merged with an SMS record, certain fields—such as Name, Email, or Zip Code—cannot be edited within the SMS record.
These fields are shared across both contact types and are essential to maintaining the link between them. Editing shared fields could break that connection, so changes are restricted to prevent issues with data integrity.
