What is a content snippet?

Snippets eliminate the need to rebuild content sections that are used frequently in your email designs. You can build a library of pre-designed, reusable content elements that can be pulled into an email template or campaign on-demand.

You will create and manage snippets in the Assets dashboard of your account.

How do I create a snippet?

In the Assets dashboard click "Snippets" from the left menu. Then click the "Create Snippet" button to open the design workflow.

How-To Steps

Step 1

In the "Snippet Details" box, provide a name for the new snippet file.

Optionally choose to store the snippet in a folder.

Step 2

In the "Design" box, choose how to start the snippet design: From Template or From Blank

  • If from a template, select the radio button of the template file to use.

Then click the "Save and Next" button in the top-right of the page.

Step 3

Use the drag-and-drop editor to build the design of the snippet. Drag in images, text blocks, and buttons from the left as needed.

When done with design, click the "Save and Next" button to continue.

Step 4

In the last step of the workflow, Complete, leave the snippet as Draft if it still needs work.

If the snippet design is final, then select the "Complete" radio button.

Click "Save and Exit" to jump out of the workflow.

Note: Only snippet files that are marked as complete can be pulled into your email templates and campaigns.

  2. Drag the Snippet icon from the left into your email layout and drop it where you want it.
  3. On the right, determine if the snippet should be a copy or a reference of the original file.
  4. Click the "Select Snippet" button to open your snippet library.
  5. Click the snippet file name from the list and then click the "Select Snippet" button to insert it.

Choosing Copy or Reference

When inserting a snippet, you have two options: Copy and Reference.

Copy means that the inserted snippet will be available to edit in the campaign or template on-demand.

Reference means that the inserted snippet will reference the original file and cannot be edited.

Note: Snippets pulled into email templates will be reference only while snippets used in campaigns can be reference or copy.
