Snippets in Delivra are pre-built pieces of content that make it easy to maintain consistency and save time when building email templates or campaigns. Whether you want to standardize a footer across all your emails or reuse a promo block, snippets help you create once and use many times.
To create or manage snippets, navigate to the Assets module on the left-side menu, then select Snippets. When you first build a snippet, it will exist in the Draft snippets section. Draft snippets are not available for use in templates or campaigns until they are marked as Complete.
To make a Snippet as Complete:
Edit the Draft Snippet and move to the Complete step of the workflow.
You have the option to rename the snippet at this step if needed.
As shown in the Snippet Status screen, you’ll have options to finalize the snippet and manage overwriting behaviors.
Once a snippet is marked as Complete, it can be inserted into email templates and campaigns using the Snippet tool located in the Design section of the email editor.
There are two ways to use snippets:
Insert as Copy: This places the content directly into your email. You can edit it freely without affecting the original snippet. Ideal for layout templates or sections you intend to customize after inserting.
Insert as Reference: This links back to the snippet stored in Assets. You cannot edit the content directly in the email editor. Any updates made to the original snippet in Assets will automatically update in every email or template that references it. Perfect for reusable items like footers, legal disclaimers, or standardized promo blocks.
Use clear, descriptive names like Footer - Company Name
or Header - Promo Banner
.
Include dates in names if you intend to version control, such as Promo Block - Spring 2025
.
Choose Copy when you expect to edit the snippet differently for each campaign.
Choose Reference when you need consistent, centrally managed content that updates everywhere automatically.
Test snippets thoroughly before marking them as Complete to ensure they work properly across different templates and devices.
Group snippets logically in your library (e.g., all footer snippets together) to keep things organized and easy to find.
Here are a few ways customers commonly use snippets:
Footers with standardized company information, social media links, and legal disclaimers.
Headers with consistent branding and navigation links.
Promo Sections that highlight offers or events, where centralized updates make management easier.
Event Details that might need to appear across multiple campaign emails.
