Sometimes you need to find contacts who didn’t open a specific campaign—whether it’s for reporting purposes or to follow up with a re-send. Delivra gives you a few different ways to create and reference these non-opener lists, depending on your goals.
Use a Custom Report to pull a list of recipients who didn’t open one or more campaigns. This method is best for review and record-keeping purposes. However, you can’t send to this list directly from the report.
Steps to build a Custom Report:
Navigate to Analytics > Custom Reports.
Click Add Custom Report in the upper right.
Select Contact Report when prompted.
Enter a report name. Description is optional.
Open the Select Field dropdown, then locate and select Did Not Open under the Action section.
Use the keyword search to find it faster.
In the Action Clause pop-up:
Choose the campaign(s) you want to evaluate.
Optionally, narrow the time frame using the "Anytime" dropdown.
Click OK, then Run Report.
Save the report if you'd like to use it again in the future.
Note: Custom Reports are available for Professional and Enterprise license levels. Visit our pricing page for more details.
If you want to send a follow-up campaign to non-openers, create a segment instead. This method gives you a ready-to-use audience.
Steps to create an Action Segment:
Go to Contacts > Segments.
Click Create Segment and choose Regular Segment.
Name your segment (e.g., "Non-Openers - April Newsletter").
Open the Select Field dropdown and find Did Not Open under the Action section.
In the Action Clause pop-up:
Choose one or more campaigns to evaluate.
Optionally, narrow the time frame.
Click OK, then Save and Test to see your list.
Pro-Tip: Use Advanced Options to include extra contact data like name, ID, or custom fields for review or export.
Once saved, you can reuse and update the segment for different campaigns as needed.
If you anticipate needing to resend campaigns to non-openers in the future, and you're on a Professional or Enterprise license, consider building a workflow that includes this logic. Automation makes this process seamless and repeatable.

When selecting multiple campaigns in either a Custom Report or Segment, Delivra uses an OR statement between them. So the logic reads:
"Did not open Campaign A OR Campaign B OR Campaign C"
.
You can always export either a Custom Report or Segment list to Excel.
