QR codes

QR codes are commonly used in email marketing for transactional emails for ticketing & event admission. With our drag-and-drop email editor, you can easily insert a QR code into your email design to create a personalized experience for your email recipients. 

To take advantage of OR codes, you will first need to understand if your event/ticketing system supports the use of QR codes.

You will also need to decide how you'll use the QR code: to provide unique information to each email recipient or provide one-code-for-all.


How-To

When you're ready to insert a QR code using our email editor, follow these steps:

  1. Drag the "QR Code" element (left) into your design canvas (center).
  2. Click on the new QR Code row to open the editor on the right.

The QR Code editor offers format & style options to customize your QR code, including:

  • Adding a URL to make the QR code clickable, or merging unique stored contact information.
  • Adjust width & height of displayed QR code.

 

QR Code Use Cases

You can use QR codes in a variety of ways, here are a couple ideas:

  • Email passes or tickets to an event.
  • Provide email discounts/coupons that can be scanned in-store.
  • Build a SMS subscriber list.
  • Provide easy event registration via email.


QR Code Notes

A few additional steps are needed if your use case is to provide unique QR codes to each email recipient.

  1. Prepare a CSV data file to import to Delivra that includes at minimum an email address for each subscriber and unique data value. 
  2. When inserting the QR code into your email design, you will edit the QR code using the editor to merge a field into it. The field you choose should be the field that you imported the unique data to.


Barcodes

Barcodes are commonly used to include coupons in marketing emails. With our drag-and-drop email editor, you can easily insert a barcode into your email design to create a personalized experience for your email recipients. 

To take advantage of barcodes, you will first need to understand if your POS system supports the use of barcodes. If your system can process barcodes, then identify the type of barcode to generate. Here are the barcodes that are currently supported in our email designer:

  • Code 128
  • Code 11
  • Code 39
  • UPCA
  • EAN 8
  • EAN 13
  • Code 2 of 5 interleaved
  • PDF 417

You will also need to decide if your use case is one-code-for-all or if a unique code needs to be assigned to each subscriber. 


How-To

When you're ready to insert a barcode using our email editor, follow these steps:

  1. Drag the Barcode element (left) into your design canvas (center).
  2. Click on the new Barcode cell to open the editor on the right.
  3. The barcode editor offers format & style options to customize your barcode, including:
  • Adding text to be displayed with the barcode, or merging stored contact profile information.
  • Adjust width & height of displayed bar code.
  • Select the barcode type that is supported by your POS system.

Use cases

You can use barcodes in a variety of ways, here are a couple ideas:

  • Allow subscribers to redeem an email offer in-store.
  • Provide a scannable ticket entry via email to your event attendees.


Using unique barcodes

A few additional steps are required if you intend to provide unique barcodes to each email recipient.

  1. Prepare a CSV data file that includes at minimum an email address for each subscriber and unique data value.
  2. Import the data file into Delivra to update your contacts. 
  3. When editing your Barcode, click the Add Merge button to merge a field into the Barcode cell. The field you choose from the Add Merge menu should be the field that you imported the unique data to.
