A suppression list is a collection of email addresses that should not receive communications from your account. These contacts are excluded from mailings regardless of list membership, segmentation, or automation rules. Suppression lists are an important tool for managing compliance, maintaining good sender reputation, and respecting contact preferences.
Suppression lists serve as a safeguard to ensure that specific email addresses are intentionally withheld from receiving a specific message. In Delivra, suppression lists can be uploaded to your account once, then applied on a per-campaign basis.
To import a suppression list into your account, follow these steps:
Navigate to Contacts Dashboard
From the main navigation, click on Contacts, then select Suppression Lists.
Start a New Upload
Click the Upload button in the upper-right corner.
Name Your List
In the popup window, enter a name for your suppression list. This name helps you identify the list later.
Upload the File
You have two options:
Drag your .TXT
file into the designated drop area.
Or, click Browse Files to select the file from your computer.
Click Next
After the file is uploaded, click Next to complete the process.
Note: Your file should be a plain text (.TXT) file with one email address per line.
Keep your suppression list updated regularly to reflect the most accurate contact preferences.
Avoid mixing suppression lists with subscriber imports. These lists serve a different purpose and are handled separately in the system.
If you're migrating from another platform, consider exporting suppressed or opted-out contacts and importing them here before sending your first campaign.
