The Delivra Editor includes a helpful feature called Content Locks, designed to safeguard your email designs. Content Locks allow users with the correct permissions to lock a specific cell or an entire layout row so that other users cannot edit them unless they are unlocked first. This ensures that important sections, like logos or branded headers, remain consistent across all communications.
Content Locks are controlled through a user’s assigned Role permissions. To access and adjust these permissions:
Go to Settings.
Click on Roles under the User Security section.
Select the relevant Role and look for the Assets/Editor settings.
Ensure the Lock/Unlock Editor Cells option is checked.
Only users with this permission will see the lock icon when editing a campaign and have the ability to lock or unlock sections.
When building or editing a campaign:
Navigate to the Design step of the campaign editor.
Select the row or content cell you want to lock.
On the right-hand side under Row Style, click the Lock icon to restrict editing.
Locked sections display a lock symbol, signaling that they are protected from accidental or unauthorized changes.
This functionality helps maintain the integrity of your brand elements and critical campaign design sections.
Use for brand protection: Lock key elements like logos, headers, and legal disclaimers to ensure consistency.
Train your team: Make sure your team knows which sections are locked and why, helping to avoid confusion during collaboration.
Plan your templates carefully: When designing templates for broader use, identify which sections should be locked from the start.
Review permissions: Regularly audit user roles to make sure only trusted team members have the ability to lock or unlock sections.
University newsletters: Ensure the institution’s logo and footer are always correctly placed and styled by locking those sections.
Franchise marketing: Lock branding elements across franchise locations to prevent unauthorized local edits.
Large teams: In companies with many contributors, protect critical design elements while still allowing flexible content creation within unlocked areas.
Only users with the "Lock/Unlock Editor Cells" permission can modify locked sections.
Locked content must be manually unlocked before it can be edited.
