Mailing Overview Report

Mailing Overview Report

The Mailing Overview report offers a clear, high-level summary of your email campaign activity. Designed for fast performance reviews, it consolidates core delivery, engagement, and revenue metrics into one interactive dashboard. Whether you’re preparing for a monthly marketing check-in or keeping tabs on new automations, this report helps you quickly assess how your emails are landing and resonating.

Top-Level Summary

These values appear at the top of the report for quick-glance tracking:

  • Mailed: Total number of emails sent to recipients.

  • Received: Emails successfully delivered to inboxes, calculated as total sent minus bounces.

  • Clickthroughs: Total number of unique clicks. Does not include multiple clicks by the same contact.

  • Unsubscribes: Total number of recipients who opted out via the unsubscribe link.

Delivery and Tracking Statistics

Below the summary, this section offers a detailed look at delivery and engagement outcomes:

  • Mailed: Total emails sent during the selected time period.

  • Received: Emails delivered without bouncing.

  • Soft Bounces: Temporary delivery failures (e.g., mailbox full, timeout). These may be reattempted.

  • Hard Bounces: Permanent delivery failures, often due to invalid addresses. Contacts who hard bounce in 3 consecutive emails are suppressed automatically.

  • Opens: Total instances of your emails being opened (includes repeat opens).

  • Unique Opens: Number of distinct recipients who opened a mailing at least once.

  • Clickthroughs: Unique link clicks from within the emails.

  • Click-to-Open Rate (CTOR): The percentage of unique openers who clicked a link. A helpful indicator of in-email engagement.

  • Clickstreams: Behavior tracking that shows where recipients go after clicking an email—powered by Delivra’s native clickstream tool. Helps tie emails to deeper site activity.

  • Purchases: Number of tracked conversions triggered by email engagement. Requires Clickstream enabled on your checkout page.

  • Revenue ($): Total value generated by purchase events connected to email-driven visits. Requires Clickstream enabled on your checkout page.

  • Forwards: Count of messages shared using the built-in “Forward to a Friend” link.

  • Unsubscribes: Total opt-outs attributed to campaigns during this period.

  • Social Shares: Total shares made using the Social Share content block. This reflects recipient-driven amplification via social platforms.

  • Impressions: Measures how often your email content was seen after being shared socially. Tracked through the Social Share block.

Clickthrough URLs

This section lists the links clicked in your campaigns, with both:

  • Unique Clicks: Number of recipients who clicked on the link

  • Total Clicks: Total number of times a link was clicked, including multiple clicks by recipients

Each URL is displayed alongside its destination, making it easy to analyze which content generated the most interest.

Complaint Rate

This chart shows the percent of recipients who reported your Campaign as spam. This number should always be as close to 0.0% as possible. Anything above 0.1% should be considered a red flag and actions should be taken to identify anything in your campaign content or general sending practices that could be considered "spammy" by your contacts.

Best Practices and Tips

  • Review CTOR (click-to-open-rate) regularly to fine-tune email content and calls to action.

  • Use Clickstream insights to connect email clicks to broader on-site behaviors.

  • Monitor bounce rates to identify list hygiene issues.

  • Keep an eye on Complaint Rate—anything above 0.1% is a red flag.

  • Export the report to PDF to share metrics with non-users or stakeholders.

Practical Use Cases

  • Campaign performance check-ins: Identify trends in clicks, opens, and bounces.

  • Stakeholder reporting: Download the PDF version for internal or client presentations.

  • Content optimization: Review clickthrough URLs to see what’s capturing attention.

  • List health review: Unsubscribe and complaint tracking offers early warnings for engagement fatigue.

Notes on Metrics

  • Revenue and purchase tracking must be configured within Delivra’s Clickstream settings.

  • Forwards and impressions are only counted when using specific Delivra features (e.g., Social Share block, Forward to a Friend).
