Transitioning from Legacy to Delivra Air: What to Expect

Transitioning from Legacy to Delivra Air: What to Expect

Moving to Delivra Air brings a more streamlined, modern experience without losing access to your data or disrupting your current workflows. This guide highlights what you can expect when switching from our Legacy platform to Delivra Air, focusing on key areas that may look or function a little differently — even though your contacts, content, templates, campaigns, and reports remain fully intact and usable.

Below is an overview of how various parts of your Delivra account are impacted in Delivra Air.

Contacts

All your contact data is available in Delivra Air, just like it was in Legacy. However, the contact profile screen has received a thoughtful redesign to make it easier to navigate.

Key differences:

  • Unified profiles: In Legacy, a single person might appear twice — once for email and once for SMS. In Delivra Air, these are now shown together in one profile view, offering a clearer picture of a contact’s engagement across channels.

  • Cleaner layout: To reduce unnecessary scrolling, Delivra Air hides fields that aren't in use by default. You can always view or rearrange fields using the "Edit Layout" button located in the top-right corner of the profile screen.

Campaigns

Your existing email campaigns are available in Delivra Air, with one exception: legacy A/B test campaigns.

What’s changed:

  • The “A/B Test” campaign type from Legacy has been replaced with a more robust Multivariate Campaign feature.

  • Multivariate campaigns cover everything A/B campaigns did (like testing subject lines and content), but also allow for testing different sender addresses, giving you even more flexibility in optimizing your outreach.

  • If you're still building A/B test campaigns in Legacy, reach out to our Support team and we can help convert them to the new Multivariate format.

Editor

Your existing email designs carry over into Delivra Air, and the editor itself has been modernized for easier, more flexible content building.

Main update:

  • In Legacy, complex layouts required defining Cell Groups ahead of time. In Delivra Air, that step is no longer necessary.

  • The Air editor is fully drag-and-drop, allowing you to build or change layouts on the fly.

  • Users can define up to 6 columns per row, then drag content blocks freely in and out of cells — a simpler, more intuitive experience overall.

Tags (Previously Known as Categories)

If you’ve used Categories in Legacy, you’ll be glad to know that they still exist in Delivra Air - they’ve just been renamed to Tags. Tags function in much the same way by helping you label and group contacts, but there are a few differences to note.

What’s changed:

  • New name, same purpose: Tags in Delivra Air replace the old Category system and are used for organizing and segmenting contacts.

  • No editing criteria after creation: In Legacy, you could edit a Category to include additional rules. In Delivra Air, once a Tag is created, its criteria cannot be changed. You’ll need build a Segment using Tag clauses in order to further break down your Tag groups.

To help you get started, we’ve created a quick tutorial on how to build a Segment using Tag clauses

What Stays the Same

For most other areas of the platform, you can expect consistency:

  • Templates, images, and files are all accessible and editable.

  • Forms and Automations work the same as they did in Legacy, but with an cleaner, updated look.

  • Your reporting data, saved segments, and preference centers are still there and function as expected.

Final Notes

The move to Delivra Air is designed to preserve everything you rely on while giving you a cleaner, more flexible interface to work with. Once you're familiar with the few key changes above, you'll find the transition a smooth one.
