Using the Purchased from Clickstream block

Using the Purchased from Clickstream block

The Purchased from Clickstream block in Delivra automations evaluates whether a contact has made a purchase that can be attributed to an email sent earlier in the same automation. This block helps you track purchase behavior and route contacts accordingly, enabling workflows that respond to conversions dynamically.

How the Purchased from Clickstream Block Works

This block relies on the Clickstream feature, which tracks website behavior via cookies. Simply select the email earlier in the automation that you expect purchases to be to be associated with. For a purchase to be associated to an email:

  1. The contact must click a link in the email, leading to your website.
  2. The purchase must occur during the same internet session.
  3. Cookies are accepted by the user and are not otherwise blocked or suppressed.

Re-evaluate Functionality

The Re-evaluate option enables continuous monitoring of purchase behavior while the contact remains in the block. If a contact completes a purchase after entering the block, they are immediately routed down the Yes path, making the automation more responsive to real-time actions.

Prerequisites

To use the Purchased from Clickstream block effectively, the following conditions must be met:

  • Clickstream Enabled: The feature must be activated in your Delivra account.
  • Clickstream Implemented: Proper setup on your website is required to track user behavior, including purchases.
  • Cookies Accepted: For a purchase to be attributed to the email, cookies must be accepted by the user. If cookies are blocked, the purchase will not be tracked or assigned to the email.

Practical Use Cases

  • Post-Purchase Follow-ups: Trigger thank-you emails, upsell offers, or feedback requests for contacts who make a purchase.
  • Conversion Tracking: Identify contacts who completed a purchase and route them away from re-engagement or promotional workflows.
  • Abandoned Cart Nurturing: Use the No path to send reminders or incentives to contacts who clicked a product link but did not complete their purchase.

Best Practices

  • Ensure Clickstream Setup: Verify that Clickstream tracking and cookies are functioning correctly to capture and attribute purchases accurately.
  • Leverage Re-evaluate for Immediate Action: Use the re-evaluate option to respond quickly to purchases, particularly for workflows involving time-sensitive offers or confirmations.
  • Monitor Email Effectiveness: Combine this block with reporting to analyze how specific emails drive conversions.
  • Educate Users on Cookies: Include messaging in your campaigns encouraging users to accept cookies for a seamless experience.

The Purchased from Clickstream block enables you to create workflows that respond dynamically to purchase behavior, improving your ability to engage contacts and optimize conversions within your automations.
