Delivra gives you the flexibility to personalize your email strategy by allowing up to 90 customizable contact data fields. These fields can be used to store a wide range of contact-specific information and power segmentation for targeted communication.
Contact data fields store information tied to individual contacts in your account—such as state, birthdate, or loyalty points. These fields are foundational for segmenting your audience and building personalized automation paths. By leveraging field data, you can create precise clauses to include or exclude contacts based on specific values.
Each contact data field is assigned one of the following data types, which determines the clause options you can use in segmentation:
Used for storing alphanumeric values like names, states, or job titles. Clause options include:
Equal to / Not equal to
Contains / Does not contain
Begins with / Ends with
In / Not in
Null / Not null
Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or signup dates. Clause options include:
Equal to / Not equal to
Before / After
At or before / At or after
Within the past / More than [X] days ago
Between / Date between / Anniversary between
Null / Not null
Best for whole numbers like purchase counts or loyalty points. Clause options include:
Equal to / Not equal to
Less than / Greater than
In / Not in
Null / Not null
Comparison operators (less than, greater than, etc.)
Useful for values like purchase totals or averages. Clause options mirror those for integers:
Equal to / Not equal to
Less than / Greater than
In / Not in
Null / Not null
Comparison operators (less than, greater than, etc.)
Similar to text fields but capable of storing special characters from global languages. Clause options are the same as those for standard text fields.
Plan field usage ahead: With a 90-field limit, it's wise to map out which fields are critical for your segmentation and personalization strategies.
Use naming conventions: Clear, consistent field names make building and managing segments easier across teams.
Take advantage of “Null” checks: These are great for finding incomplete data or ensuring follow-up actions for contacts missing key information.
Use “In” and “Not In” for lists: These operators are ideal for filtering contacts against predefined groups of values (e.g., state in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan).
Birthday Emails: Use a Date field with a clause like “Anniversary between” to trigger special messages around a contact’s birthday.
State-Based Campaigns: Segment using a Text field where “State equals Indiana” to send location-specific promotions.
High-Value Customers: Filter with an Decimal field where “Purchase Total is greater than 100” to identify VIPs for exclusive offers.
Incomplete Profiles: Build a segment where “Phone Number is Null” to prompt contacts to update their information.
All 90 fields are included by default in every Delivra account.
