Buttons are a simple yet effective way to draw attention to your email’s next step—whether it's reading more, registering for an event, or making a purchase. Adding a button to your email design in Delivra is quick and intuitive using the drag-and-drop editor.
Using buttons in email marketing campaigns is beneficial because they enhance visibility, improve click-through rates, and make CTAs more actionable. Buttons are more noticeable than plain text links due to their larger size, visual design elements like shadows, and distinct colors. This leads to increased attention and engagement, making users more likely to click and take the desired action.
Where to Start
You can add a button from either of these locations:
Within the Campaign Workflow, while building a campaign.
From Assets > Email Templates, while editing a reusable template.
- Insert a layout row
- From the right-hand panel, drag a layout row into your design.
- Alternatively, change your existing cell group layout to include an empty cell for your button.
- Add the button
- Under the "Actions" section of the editor, drag the Button icon into your new layout row or empty cell.
- Edit your button
- Click directly on the button in your design canvas (center page) to open its Edit options.
- On the right-hand panel, you can customize:
- Text (e.g., “Register Now”)
- Hyperlink (where the button sends contacts)
- Color and Text Color
- Height and Width (in pixels)
- Radius (to create rounded corners)
- Padding (space inside the button)
- Borders (if desired)
Customize cell style (optional)
Under "Cell Style", you can update the visual appearance of the button's container cell. This includes background color, border and padding, font size and alignment, and more.
Best Practices and Tips
- Keep your call-to-action short and clear (e.g., “Learn More”, “Subscribe”, “Shop Now”).
- Use high contrast between your button and background so it's easy to spot.
- Test the link to ensure it directs to the correct page before sending.
- Maintain spacing around your button for visual clarity on both desktop and mobile.
Practical Use Cases
- Event invitations: Add a “RSVP Now” button that links to a registration form.
- Promotional emails: Include a “Shop the Sale” button leading to featured products.
- Newsletter engagement: Try a “Read the Full Article” button for longer content previews.
