Fixing Image Alignment Issues on iPhone Email Previews
If you've tested an email and noticed that images appear shifted to one side when viewed on an iPhone, you're not alone. This is a common display issue that’s often linked to image maps—even if they’ve already been removed.
What Causes the Issue?
In most cases, this happens when an image map (clickable regions defined within an image) has been applied to an image at some point during editing. Even if you've removed the image map, residual code may still remain in the HTML, affecting rendering on mobile devices—particularly iPhones.
How to Fix It
To correct the alignment issue, the best solution is to fully remove any lingering image map code:
-
Delete the affected image from your email design.
-
Reinsert the image using the drag-and-drop editor or image tool.
-
Relink the image if needed (e.g., adding a URL if it's meant to be clickable).
This refreshes the code and ensures no outdated or hidden image map data is present.
Notes and Best Practices
-
We do not recommend using image maps in your emails. They can cause unpredictable display issues, especially on mobile devices and in responsive designs.
-
Always test your email across multiple devices and email clients before finalizing.
