Polls

Polls

Polls in Delivra can change the tone of your emails from "We're Selling" to "We're Listening". They allow you to gather immediate feedback from your contacts directly within the email itself. This feature removes the need to link out to external survey pages, providing a frictionless way to ask a single question and engage your audience in one click.

How Polls Work

Each poll consists of one question with up to ten possible answer options. When a recipient clicks on an option, their response is recorded and redirected to a confirmation page of your choice. You can then view your recipients' responses in Analytics or even use their responses to further segment your contacts.

Creating a Poll

Polls are built in the Assets section of your account and can be inserted into campaigns using the drag-and-drop email editor.

To create a poll:

  1. Navigate to Assets, then Polls.

  2. Click Create Poll and follow these setup steps:

    • Name your poll.

    • Optionally set a Redirect URL, the page contacts will visit after voting.

    • Choose whether recipients can see poll results after submitting a response.

    • Select your poll style (e.g., bullets, numbered list, or buttons).

    • Enter the poll question (only one allowed).

    • Add up to 10 answer options.

  3. Click Save. Your poll is now available to use in email campaigns.

Adding a Poll to an Email

  1. Open your campaign in the email editor.

  2. Drag the Poll content block into your design.

  3. On the right panel, choose your previously saved poll from the dropdown.

  4. Customize the look and feel of the poll using the options provided. These will vary based on the style selected during poll creation.

Polls will automatically try to adopt the styling from your campaign, including font styles and button colors. However, every aspect can be individually adjusted if desired.

Best Practices and Tips

  • Keep it simple: Since polls support only one question, use clear language and concise answers.

  • Use redirects wisely: Send contacts to a relevant landing page, thank-you message, or additional content after they vote.

  • Match your branding: While polls try to inherit campaign styling, double-check to ensure consistency in fonts, colors, and layout.

  • Test before sending: Preview and test your poll to confirm both the visual styling and redirect behavior work as expected.

Practical Use Cases

  • Quick feedback: Ask customers if they found your content helpful or which product feature they’re most excited about.

  • Event planning: Gauge interest in upcoming webinars or events by asking if recipients plan to attend.

  • Content preferences: Learn what type of content your audience wants to receive—industry news, product updates, how-to guides, etc.

Key Limitations

  • Only one question per poll.

  • Up to 10 answer options.

  • Polls must be created in the Assets section before use in emails.

  • Poll data is tied to the original contact; forwarded responses may not be accurately tracked.
