Our email designer includes a simple text editor that you can use to further format text. This article includes how-to and FAQ regarding the text editor.
The font selections available in the editor are the universally accepted fonts for email clients. We limit default font selection to those that are universal in an effort to ensure the display of the end recipient is what you intended.
You can save custom web fonts to your account. The email editor includes these default fonts:
- Arial
- Arial Black
- Century Gothic
- Comic Sans MS
- Courier New
- Georgia
- Impact
- Lucinda Console
- Lucinda Sans
- Palatino Linotype
- Tahoma
- Times New Roman
- Trebuchet MS
- Verdana
Receiving servers will determine if it renders your custom web font. There is no way to ensure that all recipients will see your custom web font. If you save customer web fonts in your account, be sure to also set a backup font.
While we offer the ability to paste content from an external source and retain text formatting, there are certainly times where you do not want to keep this formatting. Our text editor includes a paste text function with these options:
Inherit style at cursor: applies cell or template style to pasted text and keep hyperlinks and line breaks.
Retain source style: brings over as much of the original formatting as possible from source.
Paste text into a text block
- Copy text from external source.
- Go into Design (Edit) mode of your campaign or template file in Delivra.
- Locate and click the Paste icon from the toolbar.
- Choose your preferred paste function.
Merge tags allow you to dynamically insert data into your email to personalize the message, making it unique to the individual receiving it. A common example or using merge tags is to insert a merge tag for the First Name demographic field to address each recipient of your email with a greeting (Hi, Stephanie!).

Notes on Merge Tags
- While merge tags allow for easy personalization, be certain that you have accurate data for your recipients. Most recipients do appreciate the personal touch, until they realize the data is wrong or incomplete.
- We recommend you add a default value to the fields you intend to merge into emails. This default value will be shown when a recipient of an email does not have a saved value in the field you are merging. You can set default values for your fields in Settings > Data Setup > Contact Fields. Edit the contact field and enter a value in "merge options" box.
Bullet Lists
Creating a bullet point list can be a key way to increase message retention in your audience. Bullets break up large text blocks, draw the eyes, and allow recipients to scan your email effectively.
Creating a bullet list
Using the Drag-and-Drop Editor, you can type or paste the list of items into your text block, one per line. Then, highlight the entire list of items and click the Bullet or Numbered list icon on the toolbar.
Bullet List Tips
Use indent from the text editor toolbar to create sub-lists.
