Understanding Unsubscribed Contacts
Managing opt-outs is a key part of email compliance and list health. Here's what happens behind the scenes when someone unsubscribes, and how Delivra protects and maintains that status over time.
When a recipient clicks the unsubscribe link in your email, Delivra automatically takes several steps:
The link directs to a unique unsubscribe page that includes tracking data to identify:

The recipient

The email they received

The sending account

Delivra uses this information to locate the contact in your database.

Their status is updated to "Unsub", marking them as opted-out.

Contacts marked "Unsub" are automatically excluded from all future sends from your account.
Long-Term Management of Unsubscribes
Once a contact is unsubscribed:
They will not receive any more emails from your account.

Their unsubscribe status cannot be changed by accident—for example, through a CSV upload.
