Create segments that evaluate date information

Using our robust segmentation tools, you can build a variety of segments that evaluate date fields in multiple ways. Below we outline popular date segments.

How-To

Example 1: Find contacts with a date in the last X days.

  1. Navigate to the Contacts dashboard
  2. Click Segments on the left menu
  3. Click the Create Segment button, top right of page

Segment Type 
  1. Select Email or SMS for the Segment Channel, whichever is applicable
  2. Select Regular Segment for the Segment Type


General Information
  1. Provide a name for your segment
  2. Optionally, enter additional description for the segment

Builder
  1. Click open the select field drop down menu
  2. Scroll to find and select your date field
  3. Click open the Is drop down menu
  4. Select the Within the past operator
  5. Enter a number in the Value box
Click Save and Next to save the segment and see your results!

Example 2 - Find a date that is an anniversary between two specified dates. 

Note: Anniversary between will not evaluate the year part of the date value, only month and day.

  1. Navigate to the Contacts dashboard
  2. Click Segments on the left menu
  3. Click the Create Segment button, top right of page

Segment Type 
  1. Select Email or SMS for the Segment Channel, whichever is applicable
  2. Select Regular Segment for the Segment Type

General Information
  1. Provide a name for your segment
  2. Optionally, enter additional description for the segment

Builder

  1. Click open the select field drop down menu
  2. Scroll to find and select your date field
  3. Click open the Is drop down menu
  4. Select the Anniversary between operator
  5. Use the calendar icons to set both dates
Click Save and Next to save the segment and see your results!


Example 3 - Find a date that is between two specified dates.

  1. Navigate to the Contacts dashboard
  2. Click Segments on the left menu
  3. Click the Create Segment button, top right of page

Segment Type 
  1. Select Email or SMS for the Segment Channel, whichever is applicable
  2. Select Regular Segment for the Segment Type

General Information
  1. Provide a name for your segment
  2. Optionally, enter additional description for the segment

Builder

  1. Click open the select field drop down menu
  2. Scroll to find and select your date field
  3. Click open the Is drop down menu
  4. Select the Date between operator
  5. Use the calendar icons to set both dates
Click Save and Next to save the segment and see your results!


Example 4 - Find dates more than X days before or after current date.

Note: You can also evaluate another date field instead of using current date.

  1. Navigate to the Contacts dashboard
  2. Click Segments on the left menu
  3. Click the Create Segment button, top right of page

Segment Type 
  1. Select Email or SMS for the Segment Channel, whichever is applicable
  2. Select Regular Segment for the Segment Type

General Information
  1. Provide a name for your segment
  2. Optionally, enter additional description for the segment

Builder

  1. Click open the select field drop down menu
  2. Scroll to find and select your date field
  3. Click open the Is drop down menu
  4. Select the More than operator
  5. Enter number in the Value box
  6. Set increment as days, weeks, months
  7. Set evaluation period as before or after
Click Save and Next to save the segment and see your results!
