Email Templates in Delivra are reusable design frameworks that serve as the starting point for future email campaigns. Rather than building emails from scratch each time, templates help maintain brand consistency and streamline production by preserving structural elements like headers, footers, logos, and common layout patterns. They’re ideal for recurring communications like newsletters, event invites, or promotional announcements.
Templates are best suited for:
Establishing consistent design across recurring or branded messages.
Reducing build time by reusing layouts and static elements.
Maintaining brand integrity, especially across multiple teams or departments.
Some customers also use templates as a design staging ground. In this approach, team members (such as Designers) create and finalize the layout in a template without access to subscriber lists or sending capabilities. Later, someone with the appropriate permissions can turn that finalized template into a campaign. This workflow is especially common among larger organizations that delegate responsibilities between creative and marketing teams.
Templates can be created from scratch or by saving a completed campaign as a new template. Users with the proper permissions can design, edit, and manage templates within the Draft Templates folder. Saving a sent Campaign as a Template also requires permission to view sent Campaigns. For more information on creating a Template, see this article: Creating email templates
Once a template is finalized, it can be marked as “Complete.” This moves the template from the Draft Templates folder to the Templates folder, indicating it's ready for campaign use. Completed templates cannot be edited, but they can be replaced with updated versions if design changes are needed later.
When launching a new email campaign, you can choose from completed templates as your starting point. This allows you to modify content for that specific send without altering the original design.
After sending or designing a campaign, you can also save it as a new template to reuse the layout or structure in future sends.
Templates can be copied from one Delivra account to another within your organization. Simply select the template, click the Edit dropdown, choose Copy, and then select a Destination Account and folder. This is particularly helpful when sharing designs across departments, business units, or regional teams.
For enterprise customers managing multiple Delivra accounts, Template Accounts act as central repositories. These accounts are configured to share templates and snippets across all related accounts, ensuring a single source of truth for brand-approved designs.
