Create a SMS opt-in webform

Create a SMS opt-in webform

You can easily create a Delivra form to collect SMS opt-in, or add SMS opt-in to your existing webform in a few simple steps.

There are three required fields to add to the form if you want to allow subscribers to opt-in to your SMS program:

  • SMS Phone Number
  • SMS Authorization
  • SMS Keyword
You will find the form builder in the Assets dashboard. Go to Assets, then click Forms from the left menu. Once there, choose to create a new form, or open your existing form.

Add SMS fields

Drag and drop new rows into the form to accommodate these fields:

  1. SMS Phone Number
  2. SMS Authorization

To further customize field labels and appearance, you can edit & style the fields using the field editor on the right-side of your page.

Add your SMS keyword

Your subscribe form must have your SMS keyword assigned to it in order to allow subscription. You will find this in the Info tab, located on the right-side of your screen under Hidden Fields.

FAQ

Can my form include two SMS keywords?
No. SMS marketing regulations require that an individual subscriber opt-in to each SMS program separately and provide confirmation that the subscription is intentional, thus also requiring the form to include an authorization box.

Can I tag SMS subscribers from my form?
Tagging is not available for SMS subscribers, however you can include hidden fields to post any internal data to a field on the subscriber record when the form is submitted.

Notes

  1. The SMS Authorization field is required when using forms to collect SMS opt-in.
  2. Your SMS program's standard opt-in messaging will need to include a double-opt-in message. Learn more about standard opt-in messaging here.
